One of the tastiest rice recipes is the Serbian pilaf. Full of color and vegetables, the Serbian pilaf is a delicious recipe, which can be combined with chicken meat or it can be the main dish of a vegetarian meal, ideal for the fasting days.
- one cup of rice (approx. 250 gr)
- one chicken breast
- 2 red peppers
- 4-5 tomatoes
- one small onion
- 2 carrots
- 2-3 cloves of garlic
- salt, pepper, paprika
- 400 ml chicken soup
Cut the onion and temper it together with the carrot cut in cubes.
Cut the chicken breast in thin strips and place it in the pan together with the vegetables.
Add the pepper cut in cubes, the grand garlic, salt, pepper and paprika.
Add the rice. Then add the warm chicken soup.
After it boils for couple of minutes, add half a spoon of hot pepper paste.
Boil until the rice is boiled and the sauce recedes.
Add the tomatoes cut in cubes and put the rice in the oven.
It's ready when it's slightly rudy.
It's served hot, with a red cabbage salad.
It's very tasty also cold, especially during summer.
